This is part one of a series of short articles that will focus on educating the readers on the truths of exercise. Some will like it, some will disagree, and some will flat out hate what I have to say. But this series has been 35 years in the making. And after well over 200 consultations over the last few years that included everyone from regular exercisers to those that have never exercised at all, I can’t believe how confused people are about exercise. Add in all the information (a lot of it just flat out wrong) coming from every angle right now, it’s a wonder anyone knows what to do. The funny part is, exercise is really not that complicated. Actually, it’s almost ridiculously simple. But it’s also just as easy to be doing the wrong thing without even knowing it and wonder why you are not getting the results you want. And unfortunately, it’s that old adage. “You don’t know what you don’t know” that will haunt your effort to get results.
So follow along as I walk you item by item through everything you will ever need to know about exercise and how to do it the right way to get the results you want to get, whatever they might be.
